WASHINGTON, DC RESTAURANT WEEK HEATS UP SUMMER

IN THE NATION’S CAPITAL

Distinctive Brands Cadillac and American Express Join Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington and Destination DC to Showcase Popular Promotion

(Washington, DC)… Over 200 restaurants across the metropolitan area are preparing to take reservations for Washington, DC Restaurant Week sponsored by Cadillac and American Express, which returns for its summer edition August 16-22, 2010. The bi-annual promotion features three-course, fixed-price lunch and dinner menus at the region’s top tables, priced at $20.10 (lunch) and $35.10 (dinner).

“There’s no better time than Restaurant Week to see what the DC culinary scene has to offer, all at a great value,” said Elliott Ferguson, president & CEO, Destination DC. “There’s just a tremendous amount of excitement over DC’s restaurant scene right now with recent shows like Top Chef, DC Cupcakes and Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives shining a spotlight on Washington, DC.”

“People love Restaurant Week because it’s a wonderful opportunity to get together with friends to enjoy great meals at great prices,” added Lynne Breaux, president, Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington (RAMW). “We’re all shopping for good deals these days, and Restaurant Week really delivers.”

The list of participating restaurants shows the diversity of DC’s culinary scene. Consider J&G Steakhouse, Jean-Georges restaurant located inside the newly renovated W Washington, D.C.; Acadiana, frequented by First Lady Michelle Obama; or 2010 RAMMY Award winner Birch & Barley (voted Best New Restaurant of the Year); The Jockey Club, known as a haven of the political elite, actually named a dish after Nancy Reagan because she was such a regular during her husband’s administration. For the full list of participating restaurants and reservations, visit restaurantweekdc.org. The site will go live Tuesday, July 20.

Washington, DC Restaurant Week is sponsored by Cadillac and American Express and co-produced by Destination DC and Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington. Visit restaurantweekdc.org for more information and to view a list of participating restaurants.
