It is vital that the association position itself prominently in the political community to ensure that our hospitality voice is heard. Whether the issue is menu labeling or just one more tax, RAMW must have the access and the stature to give our position weight. A healthy PAC fund is a very important tool for working in this environment enabling us to contribute to the candidates and legislators who are supportive of our issues.

What is a Political Action Committee?
Political Action Committees (PACs) are independent organizations created to raise funds for candidates seeking elective office who share common ideals and goals with members of the PAC. PACs also support the passage or defeat of legislative and regulatory issues that affect the PACs constituents.

Why was the RAMW PAC formed?
The RAMW PAC was established to promote the interests of the foodservice industry through all forms of legislative and political action including contributions to candidates seeking office and the support or defeat of legislative or regulatory issues that impact our industry.

Why should I contribute to the RAMW PAC Fund?
Combined contributions and participation in the election process presents a united front of many as opposed to a single front of one.

Payments, contributions or gifts to the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington may be tax deductible as ordinary and necessary business expenses subject to restrictions imposed as a result of association lobbying activities.
