Celebrating Thanksgiving at DC Area Restaurants

November 27, 2013

Fall is in full swing and DC is decked out in autumnal shades of red, yellow and orange, which truly signify that Thanksgiving is upon us.

Thanksgiving – like perhaps no other time of year - is a showcase for those in the food service industry.  Our work and our passion is front and center for this national celebration.  Thanksgiving is about acknowledging our blessings and gathering with family and friends.  Gratitude is the message and food is the vehicle for the festivities.

Many families will gather around their own tables to pass around plates of traditional foods and other recipes that have become a part of their families’ legacies.  Others will mark the day seated in dining rooms of some of our area’s finest establishments.  On Thanksgiving restaurants have the opportunity to serve-up a little nostalgia through traditional fare, as well as spark interest in new flavors to expand the holiday palate.  Patrons might dine on pit-smoked turkey and Texas toast stuffing from Hill Country Barbecue Market, brussels sprouts foogath from the Bombay Club, cornbread, oysters and chorizo stuffing at the Blue Duck Tavern, or pumpkin arborio rice pudding from Ardeo+Bardeo.  The variety is endless and this is our season to shine!

In this season of thanks, RAMW is grateful to all of our members and partners. We are also thankful for your continual efforts to serve up excellence in your workplaces on this holiday and every day.  As we move into this very busy time of year, it’s our hope that you will make time on this holiday to gather around your own tables and share the blessings of great food and good family and friends.
