EBOLA: Understand the Facts

October 24, 2014

#FactsNotFiction
RAMW as a resource to our members and the community is sharing information about the real facts versus the myths going around about Ebola. It is not transmitted through the air like the flu. According to public health authorities, the only way a person can get Ebola is by coming into direct contact with the body fluids (urine, saliva, sweat, feces, vomit, breast milk and semen) of someone who is already showing symptoms. If the person does not have symptoms, they are not contagious.

You can only get Ebola from:

  • Touching the blood or body fluids of a person who is sick with or has died from Ebola.
  • Touching contaminated objects, like needles.
  • Touching infected animals, their blood or other body fluids, or their meat.
