New Jewish Table Book Signing & Dinner at The Daily Dish

On November 19, from 6-8, just in time for the holidays, Chef Todd & Ellen Kassoff Gray bring their New Jewish Table cookbook to The Daily Dish for a taste of ethnic delicacies. The New Jewish Table explores the melding of two different cooking cultures, seasonal American and Eastern-European Jewish, sharing over 125 mouth-watering recipes including reinterpretations of traditional Jewish favorites made with fresh, seasonal ingredients, from Yukon Gold and Sweet Potato Latkes, Ellen's Falafel with Pickled Vegetables and Minted Lemon Yogurt, and Roasted Heirloom Beets with Capers and Pistachios, to Matzo-Stuffed Cornish Game Hens, Fig and Port Wine Blintzes, and Chocolate Hazelnut Rugelach, there are recipes for every occasion that the entire family will enjoy.  The collaboration of Todd and his wife, Ellen, who is Jewish, brought about his initiation into the world of Jewish cooking. In 1999, Todd combined his love for farm-to-table ingredients with his passion for Jewish cuisine, opening the acclaimed Equinox Restaurant in Washington, D.C.

Along with the book signing,  Chef Jerry Hollinger of The Daily Dish and Chef Todd Gray will offer a three course $40 prix fixe meal to include, for the table: Sweet Red Pepper Hummus, Chopped Liver with Sweet Marsala Onions and Pita Bread and an amuse bouche of Yukon Gold and Sweet Potato Latkes. The first course is Roasted Candy Beet Salad with Capers and Pistachios, served with Curried Butternut Squash Soup; followed by matzah-stuffed Cornish Game Hen ($5 supplemental) or Baked Salmon with Potatoes and Green Olives or Equinox ‘s Beet Fusilli with Lancaster County Root Vegetables.  The third course is a choice of Equinox’s Dairy Free Brownie with Vegan Ice Cream, Apple Strudel or Pumpkin Chocolate Challah Bread Pudding.
