Restaurants for the Race

“Restaurants for the Race” asks area restaurants to help promote awareness of and registration for the Susan G. Komen DC Race for the Cure, which this year marks its 26th anniversary helping serve the local DC community. To participate, Susan G. Komen DC Race for the Cure will provide materials  to restaurants (at no cost) to do any or all of the following activities from Friday, April 10 through Sunday April 20:

  • Place Race posters in your windows
  • Include Race postcards in check envelopes
  • Wear Race buttons
  • Place Race table tents on tables

All restaurants that participate will be recognized by Susan G. Komen for the Cure through its website and social media channels that reach 15,000+ Race supporters:

  • Listing on the Race web site
  • Tweeting upon participation
  • Posting on Race FB page

There is an opportunity for media coverage if your restaurant has an extraordinary story to tell e.g. an employee with breast cancer, a successful fundraiser held for the Race.

Since the first DC Race for the Cure in 1990, Susan G. Komen has provided more than $35 million for over 300 community grants in the National Capital Region. These grants support local programs dedicated to reaching low-income, minority and uninsured women where breast cancer rates are highest, especially in the District’s Wards 7 and 8 and Maryland’s Prince George’s County.
