Cooking Class at Tico DC

December 10, 2017 - 3:00pm

Starting this December, Tico will host cooking classes led by Chef Rodrigo Perez. Beginning on Sunday, December 10th and continuing on the second Sunday of every month, Chef Perez and his team will share with guests their knowledge of Latin-inspired cooking and a few tips and tricks for home cooks that Chef Perez has learned from his career working for Chefs Michael Schlow and Jose Andres. Stations for each class include ceviches, Tico’s signature dishes, cooking techniques and crowd pleasers. These classes are designed for guests with any level of cooking ability and one-on-one help will be plentiful. Guests will enjoy Tico’s signature drinks throughout, as well as a meal including dishes produced in the class and additional specials.

Each month will have a different focus within Tico and Chef Perez’s repertoire. The first class on December 10th will focus on the use of smoke for flavor. Guests will learn how to make smoked mezcal turkey, tuna belly, and even avocados.

Looking forward, January’s class will be all about meat. Guests will learn how to make pork rib carnitas and chicken wings. February’s class will focus on throwing a 'Tico-style' Super Bowl party complete with a taco bar.

All classes will take place at Tico on the second Sunday of the month. Tickets are $50/person and can be purchased here.
