EMV and Restaurants: One Year Later

October 27, 2016 - 2:00pm to 3:30pm

Just over one year ago – October 1, 2015 – the EMV liability shift took effect. Restaurants and other merchants that do not have EMV-enabled equipment became liable for fraudulent purchases made with a counterfeit credit or debit card.

For restaurant operators, this past year has been challenging and full of questions: Do I need to update hardware? Is this a legal mandate? How much more protection does EMV get me? How can I train my staff and customers on the new payment method?

Join the National Restaurant Association and Heartland Payment Systems for a new webinar on EMV and Restaurants: One Year Later to hear more about:

  • A basic overview of EMV and what it means for restaurants
  • Lessons learned
  • Tactics to fight fraud and chargebacks
