Winter Menu Arrives at Cafe Dupont

February 4, 2014

Washington, DC (February 4, 2014)—Café Dupont welcomes the start of a new year with a reinvigorated winter menu. Executive Chef David Fritsche has combined global flavors with classic technique to craft a decadent seasonal menu sure to keep guests warm during the remaining cold months ahead.

Appetizers include fresh smoked salmon accompanied by a horseradish mousse on freshly baked pumpernickel bread.  Thered quinoa packs vibrant flavors with baby beets, sweet oranges, and goat cheese, topped with refreshing winter citrus vinaigrette.  Traditional black pudding adopts a sophisticated twist with caramelized apples and onions atop house made brioche straight from the hearth.

Main courses showcase hearty, comforting ingredients like succulent venison atop a savory combination of duck fat confit potatoes, charred leeks, caramelized chestnuts, and local apples. Scallops are flawlessly seared with sweet potatoes, roasted baby leeks, watercress nage, and toasted pine nuts tossed in an aromatic brown butter powder.  Chef Fritsche has also handcrafted duck gnocchi, which combine traditional gnocchi with a confit duck leg ragout, served with fresh broccoli rabe, crispy shallots, and parmesan foam.

With floor-to-ceiling windows and contemporary décor, Café Dupont offers guests a bright and welcoming atmosphere for dining. In addition, the private dining rooms are an ideal setting for more intimate formal occasions, meetings, and special events.  For more information about the new menus or private dining options, contact Julia Hobbes at (703) 417-2709 orjulia@lindarothpr.com
