Educated Eats Fundraiser: A Party Benefiting Culinary & Hospitality Education

November 14, 2017 - 5:00pm to 8:00pm

Dear RAMW Members, Sponsors, Partners, and Friends:

Please join us for our eighth annual fundraiser and silent auction benefiting Educated Eats (EE), RAMW’s Education Foundation on November 14th 2017. Last year, we raised over $22,000 to support culinary education.  This contribution enabled five deserving applicants to further their education with the assistance of a scholarship and helped to pave the way for future Educated Eats programing. We hope we can count on your support this year as we aim to surpass this fundraising goal.

The mission of Educated Eats is the promotion of the restaurant industry as a career of limitless opportunity. Scholarship recipients are able to pursue their culinary education at prestigious institutions such as Stratford University, the Culinary Institute of America, and Johnson and Wales. By donating to the silent auction you will not only be endorsing the valuable work done by the organization, but you will also be financially sustaining our ongoing scholarship program.

RAMW is seeking in-kind donations to be used at the annual Educated Eats Scholarship Silent Auction. The silent auction items will be grouped into curated packages for bidders to enjoy. The online fundraiser will go live later this month!
The ideal items for donation are:
  • Gift certificates for specific restaurant experiences such as “Lunch for 10 for Your Office”, or “Private Dining Experience for 6”, “Pizza Making Class for 6”, “Wine Pairing for 4”, for example.
  • Trips or Vacation packages; use of Vacation properties
  • Tickets to cultural events, theater events, sporting events, amusement park, or foodie events
  • Golf packages, driving range access, etc.
  • Jewelry, housewares, or other gift package (must meet minimum $150 value)
  • Restaurant gift cards (must be $200 or more)
  • Hotel room stays in DC Area or Out of Town
  • Spa packages
  • Professional Services Credit (3 hours of legal consulting, 3 hours of design consulting, etc)
  • Financial contributions to Educated Eats are welcome as well

Wine and Spirits Pull

This year, the Educated Eats event will feature our second annual Wine and Spirits Pull, giving guests the opportunity to take home a spectacular bottle of wine or spirit. For an entry fee, guests will have the opportunity to choose a number at random, which corresponds to a bottle in our lineup. The wines and spirits will vary from expensive picks to moderate favorites. Everyone who buys a pull takes home a bottle, but the opportunity to score with a great pick is what the excitement is all about!

To make this a success, we need you to go to your restaurant’s wine cellar – or you own personal wine cellar – and donate just 1 bottle (or more if you like!). Of course, we’re looking for the good stuff. The better the bottle you can donate, the better our chances of reaching our fundraising goal.

In addition to supporting this very worthy effort, the auction and networking event is a great way to connect with the restaurant community and highlight your business as a supporter of culinary education and the restaurant industry.

How Can You Suport?
