DGS Delicatessen

DGS Delicatessen

Restaurant

DGS Delicatessen offers 8 day house cured pastrami, duck fat matzo balls, applewood smoked salmon, Montreal bagels and more. In the spirit of the old world Jewish kitchen, DGS brines, cures, smokes and pickles everything served in house. Beverage Director Brian Zipin has crafted a beverage menu amplifying the bold flavors of the delicatessen.

The delicatessen was born in Eastern Europe. It traveled with our grandparents’ generation to America. These scrappy urban pioneers inspired our name. DGS is a nod to the mom-and-pop District Grocery Stores that lined street corners in DC at the turn of twentieth century. DGS Delicatessen is owned by 3rd generation Washingtonians and cousins Nick and David Wiseman.
