Emergency Rulemaking Extends Carry-out & Delivery Privileges ABC-licensed Hotels, Multipurpose Facilities, Private Clubs, & Food Retailers

March 26, 2020
On March 25, 2020, the Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Board adopted an emergency rulemaking that extends beer, wine, and spirits carry-out and delivery privileges to ABC-licensed hotels, multipurpose facilities, private clubs, and food retailers with commercial street footage at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. All alcohol sales must be accompanied by at least one (1) prepared food item.

Accordingly, licensees are required by law to register with the Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration (ABRA). Registration takes less than five (5) minutes to complete.
Required information includes:

  • Licensee First Name
  • Licensee Last Name
  • Establishment Name
  • License Number
  • License Class
  • Street Address
  • Postal Code
  • Quadrant
Registrants are advised that there have been no changes to enforcement. Compliance with ABC laws will continue to be monitored and appropriate enforcement action will be taken in response to any violations. Accordingly, we encourage participants to review answers to frequently asked questions on topics such as containers, third-party delivery services, and products.
