New Format Menu Makes it Easier to Find the Perfect Wine for Any Taste or Occasion

Washington, DC – November 20, 2014 – Flight Wine Bar introduces a new wine menu featuring simplified formatting and expanded selections to meet the growing interest in exploring the expansive world of wine. The number of flights offered has doubled, half-bottles were added, by the glass options have increased as has the list of spirits, apértifis and digestifs. The food menu was also tweaked to incorporate new items that are designed to align with their wine offerings while continuing to offer customer favorites.

“Our guests are constantly telling us that they come back because they appreciate being able to learn more about wine each time they visit, so we increased our wine offerings to give them even more opportunities to have a little fun and expand their horizons beyond the usual varietals and regions,” said Principal, General Manager and Beverage Director Swati Bose.

“Our customers trust us to introduce them to wines they might not know but will ultimately be excited about, so it’s important to make sure we have something that appeals to everyone.” added Principal and Owner Kabir Amir.

The stars of the new wine menu are the flights. Now boosting 20 selections, the flight list has doubled in size allowing for extensive offerings that pay homage to under the radar varietals and regions, while also highlighting smaller production vineyards from more well-known regions. The creative, tongue-in cheek names of many of the flights set the mood for a playful encounter with a number of the flights. A flight of three wines is $18.

The reformatted menu is designed with ease in mind. Additionally, the list is spiral bound to further aid the decision making process.

The new food menu items emphasize the kitchen’s focus on simple, yet delicious food designed to complement the wines. New items on the menu created by Chef Armani Malik Copeland include: Seafood Bouillabaisse with shrimp, scallops and mussels in a sake broth; Zucchini Fritters with a lemon-honey dipping sauce and Coconut Milk Consommé with lemongrass, forbidden rice and onion relish. Customer favorites such as Hanger Steak with whipped potato, black sesame tahini, tabbouleh, fried shallots and Slow Cooked Pork Belly with spanish black beans and pickled fresno will continue to be offered. Dulce de Leche Bread Pudding with vanilla cream sauce adds a sweet ending to the menu additions.
