Flight Wine Bar Turns One
Celebrates with Weekly Wine Specials, New Food items

Washington, DC (February 4, 2014) – Flight Wine Bar kicks off their one year anniversary festivities (#FlightTurnsOne) with delicious additions to their food menu and two new weekly wine specials. The wine specials will be available during the week and on the weekend throughout the year starting Wednesday, February 4th. The new food items will also be available starting February 4th.

On Wednesdays, guests can enjoy 35% off some of owners Kabir Amir and Swati Bose’s favorite bottles. Each week, they’ll select one hidden gem from their cellar to share with their more adventurous clientele (#HiddenGems). These specially curated bottles will be available after 7 p.m.  The program kicks-off with a favorite of Swati’s – Chateau Musar’s Hochar Red, a wine from Lebanon in memory of Serge Hochar, the head of Chateau Musar, who recently passed away. Other bottles that will be featured throughout the year include an Austrian red wine, Heinrich Blaufränkisch; a white wine from Jura, France - Domaine de la Pinte Arbois Pupillin; a Hungarian white wine, Kiralyudvar Furmint – a favorite of Amir’s who grew up in the country; an Italian kerner from Manni Nossing; and a red wine from Croatia, Trapan Terra Mare Teran

On Saturday evenings, Flight will offer the #RedEye special, $7 glasses of wine from any open bottle in the restaurant. This limited glass special will be available from 10:30 p.m. until the wine runs out. Additionally, the all night happy hour from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. will continue on Mondays.  During happy hour, Flight offers a rotating selection of a red and a white wine for $7, four draught beers for $5, and food options that range from $5 to $7 including Zucchini Fritters, Fried Cauliflower, Steak Sliders and Chocolate Bon Bons.

“Through our weekly specials and other offerings we are always encouraging our guests to try new wines they may not have tried before,” said Principal, General Manager and Beverage Director Swati Bose. “We offer a variety of pricing options so that trying out different wines is available to all guests regardless of their budget or tastes.

Three new food items will also debut on the menu. They include: Fried Cauliflower with an herbed crust and aioli ($8); Grilled Spiced Meatballs in a homemade barbeque sauce ($8) and Hanger Steak Sliders with arugula, provolone and red pepper aioli ($18).

“We strive to offer food that works well with our beverage menu.  So as our wine menu continuously evolves, so does our food.” said Principal and Owner Kabir Amir.
