To participate, restaurants can do any or all of the following awareness activities from Friday, April 11 through Sunday April 20:
•    Placing Race posters in your windows
•    Including Race brochures in check envelopes
•    Wearing Race buttons
•    Placing Race table tents on tables, and/or
•    Displaying Race brochures at check out

To participate, contact Sara Fought, sarafought@gmail.com or Lisa Gray, lisajgray@verizon.net.

All restaurants that participate will be featured in a free Washington City Paper advertisement and Susan G. Komen will  recognize your participation in an email to its over 30,000 Race supporters and online through its website and social media channels.

Since the first Global Race for the Cure in 1990, Susan G. Komen has provided more than $34 million to community organizations in the National Capital Region. These grants are dedicated to reaching low-income, minority and uninsured women, especially those in the District’s Wards 7 and 8 and Maryland’s Prince George’s County.  In 2012 alone, Komen grantees including the Doctors Community Hospital in PG County and Arlington Free Clinic provided more than 18,000 mammograms for local women.  And almost 200,000 women were educated about their breast health through our local community grantees.

We hope you will join with us in this important local effort to help educate women and men about breast cancer and to help us find the cures.
