Washington, D.C. (December 1, 2014) — Christmas Eve is a time for gathering with family and friends.  This year a number of Washington area restaurants are unveiling their holiday dining options.

Blue Duck Tavern, located on the corner of 24th and M Streets, NW, 20037, will be showcasing farm-fresh favorites this holiday season.  On Christmas Eve, Wednesday, December 24, Blue Duck Tavern will serve an a la carte dinner from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., offering a variety of specials for guests to enjoy with family and friends.  On Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25, newly appointed Executive Chef Ryan LaRoche & Chef de Cuisine Brad Deboy will present a three-course holiday meal from 11:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.  Brunch begins with an array of starters set throughout the open kitchen, including seasonal salads, breads, cheese and meats, followed by choice of a plated entrée and side dishes showcasing produce from regional farms.  Holiday desserts prepared by Pastry Chef Naomi Gallego are on display in the Pastry Pantry to complete the meal.  Christmas brunch is priced at $100 per person for adults and $45 for children between six and 12.  Children under six years of age are complimentary.  Advance reservations are recommended and can be made by calling +1 202 419 6755 or visiting www.blueducktavern.com.

Those wishing to savor Blue Duck Tavern’s exceptional cuisine in their own home this Christmas can call ahead and order their holiday feast to-go.  Orders must be placed by December 19 at 5:00 p.m.  The star of the dinner for Blue Duck Tavern’s take-it-home Christmas is a 10 to12 pound free-range roasted turkeyfrom Earth N Eats Farm in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, along with two freshly baked breads, four traditional sides, and two seasonal pies.  This all-American feast is designed to feed six to eight and is priced at $350 (tax not included).  Blue Duck Tavern will accept orders until December 20 at 5:00 p.m., with the Christmas dinner available for pick-up at the Pastry Pantry on December 24 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. or on December 25 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  To place an order, visit https://www.giftrocker.com/BlueDuckTavernChristmas and specify the date and time of pick-up.

Lupo Verde, located in the bustling 14th Street area at 1401 T Street, NW, 20009, will offer a traditional Feast of Seven Fishes available from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Christmas Eve.  Prepared by Chef de Cuisine Domenico Apollaro, the meal will consist of fish and pasta, following the Roman Catholic tradition to refrain from the consumption of meat on holy days.  The numerology represents the seven sacraments and seven days of creation.  Priced at $85 per person (excluding tax and gratuity), menu highlights include Fresh Swordfish Crudo with radicchio, blueberry, burrata and fennel oil; Breaded Cod with rapini, sweet pepper and white wine; Squid Ink Ravioli with fresh prawns, chickpeas puree and black olives; Almond-Honey-Herbs Crusted Halibut with red wine glazed vegetables; Homemade Spaghetti with anchovies, mussles, pine nuts and parsley pesto, as well as Farro and Fresh Gurnard Soup with tomato confit and fresh herbs.  For the perfect ending, fans will enjoy the traditional Italian Cuore de Panettone, warm cream, chocolate and torrone irpino.  For more information or reservation please call (202)  827-4752, or visit www.lupoverdedc.com.
