2015 RAMMYS Beer Program of the Year Finalists Shine This May
Events and Specials Announced at the Region’s Top Beer Destinations May 4-8

Washington, DC (April 23, 2015)—Finalists for the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington (RAMW) 2015 RAMMY Award for Beer Program of the Year have exciting special events and promotions planned for the week of May 4.

Monday, May 4, through Friday, May 8, Beer Program of the Year finalists will showcase their outstanding offerings through in-house promotions, reaffirming why they deserve to win one of the region’s premier industry accolades – a RAMMY Award. Guests are encouraged to come out and support their favorite watering hole throughout the week.

In honor of The Arsenal being named a 2015 Beer Program of the Year finalist, Bluejacket is putting together a series of events throughout the week. On Thursday, May 7, the brewery is hosting two special happy hour tasting tours featuring a number of rare and delicious beers from the Bluejacket vault, including vintage sours and barrel-aged brews, as well as the first opportunity to savor a barrel sample of one of their yet-to-be-released spontaneously fermented Coolship beers. Tickets are $35 per person (inclusive of tax & gratuity) and include an in-depth tour of the brewery plus special tastings. Guests are also invited to join the team on Tuesday, May 5, for the debut of two new barrel-aged Bluejacket beers and on Wednesday, May 6, for a “Wednesday Flight Night” featuring special food and beer flight pairings. The Atlas District will have an entire week of events to look forward to. On Monday, May 4, Granville Moore’s is teaming up with fellow finalist Mad Fox Brewing Company for a four-course beer dinner. Tickets are $45 per person (excluding tax & gratuity) and can be purchased here. On Tuesday, May 5, the restaurant will offer a special reserve list of unearthed cellar finds and large format bottles along with its regular Tuesday “NeigHborhood NigHt” deal of 12.38% off the bill. On Wednesday, May 6, join the women of DC Brau, Denizens Brewing Company and Port City for a special meet & greet upstairs at Granville Moore’s starting at 6pm. For a $15 cover, guests will receive a flight of four delicious brews. No reservations required, but space is limited. Finally, starting at 5pm on Thursday, May 7, join Granville Moore’s for Thirsty Firkin Thursday, where they will tap a special firkin of Flying Dog’s The Truth dry-hopped with Galaxy hops and pineapple and offer a special Trio of Truth combo for $28, which includes two tastings of The Truth along with a plate of Chef Jeremy’s infamous roasted chicken marinated in The Truth.

Mad Fox Brewing Company will highlight the diversity and quality of its product by showcasing the impact of various hop varietals used in making beer. The brewing company will dry hop its Defender American Pale Ale as a base beer with six different hop varietals in six different casks, which will be available at the bar from May 4 through May 8 for guests to enjoy.

Pizzeria Paradiso Georgetown will tap four hand-selected beers representing a certain beer style each day of the week, beginning Monday, May 4, with an assortment of saison offerings. Tuesday, May 5, stouts will be the beer of choice and Wednesday, May 6, stop by for a selection of wheat beers. Those who prefer hoppier beers are in for a treat on May 7 as Pizzeria Paradiso will feature IPAs, and on Friday, May 8, wild ales will be on tap for guests to enjoy. Each of the beers selected will cover the breadth of that day’s featured style as well as the restaurant’s personal favorites, showcasing the variety and quality of their beer program.
