BinWise Is the Beverage Technology Software Used by Award Winning Sommeliers

October 21, 2013

BinWise, Inc., the leading cloud-based software company for managing restaurant beverage programs, is pleased to announce that the top award winning restaurants and sommeliers across the U.S. use its solution to manage their wine, beer and liquor.

Each year the editors of Wine Enthusiast Magazine honor the individuals and companies that have made outstanding achievements in the wine world; including an award for the Top Sommelier of the Year.

Four out of the five nominees for the 2013 Sommelier of the Year named below use BinWise to manage their beverage programs.

Laura Maniec
One of just 19 female Master Sommeliers in the world, Maniec is behind the popular Corkbuzz in Manhattan's Union Square. Through her wide-ranging educational offerings and eclectic menu, Maniec aims to create a new community of informed wine lovers.

Daniel McCullough
Wine Director at Napa Valley's Oenotri, McCullough attended the Culinary Institute of America in upstate New York before turning to wine. Over time at Oenotri, he has crafted a 650-bottle wine list dominated by wines from Italy and California and rounded out by Old World classics from Burgundy and Champagne.

John Ragan
Wine Director for Danny Meyer's Union Square Hospitality Group, John Ragan works with all beverage directors to ensure consistency and excellence at each restaurant. He has earned four New York Times stars and a Wine Spectator Grand Award.  He is also only one of three people in the world to earn both a James Beard Award for "Outstanding Wine Service" and be named a Master Sommelier.

Dustin Wilson
Currently Wine Director of three Michelin-starred Eleven Madison Park, Wilson is also a Master Sommelier. He was featured in last year's popular documentary SOMM, where viewers watched him study for and pass the rigorous Court of Master Sommeliers exam in 2011.

The winners will be announced in the special December 31 Wine Star Award issue, and the honorees will be presented their Wine Star Award trophies at a gala black-tie dinner in New York City on January 27th, 2014.

In addition, BinWise was a sponsor of the Top 100 Wine Restaurants Award Winners for 2013. Of the Top 100 list, 24 of those award-winning restaurants are BinWise clients and include such notable restaurants as Marea (New York), Plume at the Jefferson Hotel (DC), Nomad (New York), Quince (San Francisco) and A16 (San Francisco).

BinWise and the Wine Enthusiast also have a strategic partnership that is aimed to increase awareness of technology available to the restaurant industry.
