DC Brau Flagship Beer Earns Silver at the 2014 Great American Beer Festival

Washington, DC – The Citizen’s can isn’t the only thing that is silver these days. DC Brau’s flagship Belgian-Style Pale Ale earned a second-place medal in the Belgian- and French-Style Ale category at this year’s Great American Beer Festival (GABF) in Denver, Colorado, over the weekend.

“It already was such a great honor to be out in Denver pouring our beers at GABF alongside some of the best craft breweries in the country,” says Brandon Skall, CEO & co-founder of DC Brau Brewing Company. “We’re ecstatic to bring home a medal for The Citizen to the citizens of the District!”

Other winners in the category – which had 27 entries overall – included the Grisette from Sly Fox Brewing Company in Pottstown, PA (Gold) and the Barren Hill Biere De Extra from Barren Hill Tavern & Brewery in Lafayette Hill, PA (Bronze). This is the second year that DC Brau has participated in GABF, and the second time medaling in this category. For the full list of this year’s GABF medal winners, visit
