Gather & Celebrate This Thanksgiving at The Award-Winning Blue Duck Tavern, Or Bring The Traditional Feast Home for The Family

Washington, D.C. (October 1, 2018) For an all-American Thanksgiving celebration in the nation's capital, the Michelin-starred Blue Duck Tavern has the holiday covered. Guests can opt to dine at the restaurant or bring Blue Duck TavernÕs fare home to enjoy with family and friends. Crafted by newly appointed Executive Chef Adam Howard, the farm-fresh menu showcases the spirit of the season along with tempting desserts by Pastry Chef Colleen Murphy.

On Thursday, November 22, Blue Duck Tavern will offer its a la carte breakfast menu from 6:30am to 10:30am. Then, "brunch into dinner" service will be available from 12:00pm until 8:00pm. Guests opting for the Thanksgiving, three-course holiday meal will enjoy Blue Duck Tavern's inviting ambience. A bountiful selection of starters will be served at the table family-style for guests to help themselves to their first course. Starters will include Kabocha Squash Soup with cinnamon, croutons, hard cider; Roast beet salad with blue cheese mousse and root vegetable granola; Wood-Oven Bone Marrowas well as a Southern Spread: Pimento & Cheese with bacon jam, Whipped Boiled Peanuts with pickled peppers and heirloom radish and Blackeye Pea Hummus with herbed goat cheese and spiced pecans to be followed by a choice of plated entres and side dishes showcasing regional produce. Highlights include Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes with celery, peppers and Old Bay aioli; Slow Roasted Prime Rib with horseradish cream; Sorghum Brined Turkey with cornbread-oyster dressing, bacon, chestnuts, sage, served with Saw Mill gravy and cranberry relish; Spiced Halibut with Carolina gold brown rice pilau, chioggia beets, country ham, sweet potato and madeira; Vegetable Pot PiePimento Mac & Cheese; Braised Greens with Aleppo pepper, white soy and pot licker; Roasted Sugar Pumpkin with crispy pork shoulder, sauerkraut and chicory coffee, as well as Butter Whipped Potato with horseradish. 

Seasonal desserts created by Pastry Chef Colleen Murphy will be on display in the Pastry Pantry. They are the perfect finish to the Thanksgiving feast. The holiday menu is priced at $135 per person for adults and $55 for children six to twelve years of age (beverages, tax and gratuity not included). Children under six years of age are complimentary. 

Guests can also join family and friends and family in Blue Duck Lounge, which will offer its a la carte dinner menu from 6:00pm to 10:30pm.  Those seeking a late bite are also encouraged to stop by the Lounge, which will be offering select holiday market dishes from 10:30pm to close.  Reservations for those wishing to dine at Blue Duck Tavern are encouraged and can be made by calling (202)419-6755 or by visiting www.blueducktavern.com. Advanced reservations with a credit card are needed for all reservations. Cancellation policy is one week prior; otherwise it is a fee of $50 per person.

Blue Duck Tavern's exceptional cuisine can also be savored at home. Leave the recipes to the chefs for a perfect Thanksgiving, as one can call ahead and order their three-star feast to-go. Orders must be placed by November 14. The star of the dinner for Blue Duck Tavern's take-it-home Thanksgiving is their succulent 10-12 pound roasted turkey, accompanied by two freshly baked breads and four traditional sides from the restaurant's menu to include pimento mac n' cheese; braised greens; potato pure and roasted sugar pumpkin. For the sweet finale, who can resist seasonal apple and pumpkin pies which are both included in the Thanksgiving package.
