WASHINGTON, DC AREA RESTAURANTS OFFER TERRIFIC OPTIONS TO COOL DOWN THE SUMMER HEAT WITH REASONABLY PRICED MEALS

More than 200 restaurants participating in Summer Restaurant Week from August 15 – 21, 2011

(Washington, DC)…Metropolitan Washington, DC area residents are warming up their dialing fingers and loading up the official Restaurantweekdc.org web page on their screens, getting ready for the release of Summer Restaurant Week dates and their chance to make reservations at new hot spots and old favorites.  Over 200 restaurants will feature three-course, fixed-price lunch and dinner menus priced at $20.11 (lunch) and $35.11 (dinner).

Restaurant Week regulars know to book reservations early before their top picks fill up, but with over 200 establishments located throughout DC, MD and VA, with cuisines from around the world, diners will not have a problem finding an establishment to appreciate an enjoyable meal.

“The DC area restaurant scene is certainly hot. We have seen a great number of new restaurants open throughout the last year and many are participating in Summer Restaurant Week – offering guests the chance to enjoy, perhaps a place they’ve never been before or visit an old favorite at an excellent value," stated Lynne Breaux, President, Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington (RAMW).

Whether interested in a recent RAMMY Award-winning restaurant or chef, or dying to personally try-out the four-star restaurant the Obamas dined at recently, Restaurant Week fans won’t have to wait much longer, they simply need to call or go online quickly before reservations fill up.

"Summer Restaurant Week is an invitation to locals and visitors to immerse themselves in DC's rich food culture,” said Elliott Ferguson, President and CEO of Destination DC. “The DC dining scene has become one of the best in the nation—a fact that we wear proudly in our efforts to attract visitors to the city. We hope these exciting fixed-price lunch and dinner menus inspire folks to sample delicious dishes in restaurants and neighborhoods that may be new to them."

For the full list of participating restaurants and reservations, visit www.restaurantweekmetrodc.org. The site goes live today, Thursday July 14th at noon. Many popular food blogs, websites and the mobile restaurant app Venga also list restaurants and links to make reservations as well.
