The Bombay Club

Bourbon Steak

Bourbon Steak puts an upscale spin on Thanksgiving must-haves for their three-course prix-fixe dinner. The roasted pumpkin bisque benefits from truffled chestnut croutons and a cranberry ginger chutney, while the roasted turkey sides get a little more sophisticated (black pepper gravy or potato purée). There are also enticing options for non-traditionalists, from the lobster pot pie (with root veggies and black truffle) and the caviar carbonara (with créme fraîche, quail egg, bacon, and Petrossian caviar). Save room for dessert, because there are there are pecan pie donuts. ($115 per adult, $50 per child)

Chef will be show casing some North Carolina favorites including braised pork belly, catfish, and Carolina spiced fried turkey as well as some fun dishes like our take on traditional eggs benedict and creamy Anson Mills grits with pimento cheese. Included is our omelet station and a Chef’s choice plate of mini treats for each table.

Central Michel Richard

Francophiles can get the best of France and America in one meal with Central Michel Richard’s Thanksgiving prix-fixe menu, served from noon to 8pm. Staying true to tradition, there will be pumpkin soup, turkey, mushroom stuffing, cranberry sauce, and potato gratin. You can also opt to embrace French cuisine with steak frites and peppercorn sauce. Of course, the Central’s chocolate bar will be on the docket for dessert, along with pumpkin pie and cranberry almond bread pudding. ($55 per adult, $27 per child)



The stylish CityCenterDC restaurant is departing from its usual Italian fare for Thanksgiving. To-go items include cider-brined turkey, sage stuffing, and pumpkin spice pie. Details: Order by November 21; pick up on November 23 from 6 pm to 9 pm or on Thanksgiving Day from 8:30 am to 1 pm.

Del Frisco's Double Eagle

Three-course Thanksgiving meal, $52 per person. The menu includes updated holiday favorites like butternut squash soup, slow roasted turkey breast with sweet onion apple-sausage stuffing with all the trimmings and pecan pie à la mode for dessert.



Since Thanksgiving is all about togetherness, Equinox is ensuring that vegetarians/vegans and carnivores can exist in harmony, at least during dinner. The feast kicks off with an oyster roast -- 500 Rappahannock oysters, plus oyster mushrooms for the veg crowd. The three-course menu features plenty of options to accommodate any dietary restrictions. There’s a truffled white bean soup, a grilled wild mushroom tart, or rosemary roasted duck sausage to start, and then butternut squash and cauliflower tempura, chestnut and porcini mushroom risotto, or cider-brined turkey for the main event. Dessert selections range from granny smith apple cake with sage gelato to heirloom pumpkin semifreddo. ($70 per adult)

Kapnos/Kapnos Taverna

Choose from a selection of spit-roasted meats: a 14-16 pound turkey ($120), lamb shoulder ($85) or pork shoulder ($79). Sure, you can order more traditional sides and desserts, but why not add a Greek touch with, say, a tyrokafteri feta spread ($22) or baklava ($45)? Sides serve 8 to 10 people. Kapnos/Kapnos Taverna

Chef Mike Isabella and team are giving Thanksgiving a Greek makeover at his tavernas in DC and Ballston, with options like Greek spit-roasted turkey with lemon-thyme gravy, and macaroni and cheese with feta and dill. Details: Order by November 20; pick up on Thanksgiving Day between 10 am and noon.



Eric Ziebold will serve an a la carte menu that mixes menu staples with special holiday fare. The centerpiece of your table could be a whole roasted chicken, capon or turkey ($56 to $190, feeding up to 10 people), all of which are served with gravy and stuffing. Sides ($10) feature sweet potato puree, green bean casserole and roasted Brussels sprouts. For dessert, how about a shareable pumpkin bread pudding ($20)? It’s more than worth the drive out of the city to spend Thanksgiving in the bucolic town of Clifton. When you arrive, the welcome at Trummer’s on Main might even be better than at your grandma’s. Their three-course holiday menu will be served from noon to 6pm, and the bounty includes roasted heirloom pumpkin soup, local fall greens, sweet potato agnolotti, and pan-roasted halibut. The star selection is the traditional Thanksgiving dinner entrée, which includes foie gras- and pecan-stuffed leg, maple wrapped breast, fried skin, cornbread stuffing, cranberry gel, and sage jus. For dessert, there’s an apple crisp, a take on pumpkin pie, and a chocolate pecan pie. ($64 for adults, $25 for kids)
