Alert: Metro System to Shut Down for 29 Hours Beginning at Midnight

Due to an unscheduled set of emergency inspections, the WMATA announced Tuesday the suspension of the entire Metrorail system Wednesday, March 16, 2016.
The WMATA Metrorail Shutdown will go into effect from midnight Tuesday and remain closed until 5 a.m. Thursday.
