The Oval Room is seeking a Sous Chef to be part of our opening team.
We are located
in the heart of Washington, DC.
We are looking for individuals that are career-minded and focused on growth. Our kitchen team works as a close unit in a teaching environment. If you are creative, talented and a team player, then we are interested in hearing from you!
Responsibilities include:
-Management and execution of culinary production.
-Quality control through tastings and staff training.
-Cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen.
-Oversight of food inventories and cost controls.
-Recipe development.
Requirements include:
-3-5 years of related cooking experience in fine dining.
-Strong management skills
-Team-oriented person
-Maintains local health department food handler’s certification up to date and current
-A passion for food, an exceptional work ethic, and dedication
-Dependability-job requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations.
-Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays – REQUIRED
-Strong task and time management abilities
-Ability to stand for extended periods, and lift 40+ lbs.
-Great work ethic and a committed to be better tomorrow than yesterday.
