RAMW's 'Best of D.C.' James Beard Dinner: Gold Medal Worthy!

Rising star chefs from Washington DC representing the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington (RAMW)and anchored by RAMMY Chef of the Year Vikram Sunderam from Rasika showed off their culinary skills with a stellar performance Monday nightat the James Beard House in New York City. Dinners at the old home of James Beard provide a continuous pipeline of nightly fundraising for the James Beard Foundationas chefs from New York and across the US take over the small converted "home" kitchen for dinners of 65 to 80 people. The "Best of D.C." dinnerbrought in $130/$170 per person for the Foundation.

This was a great evening for the chefs to show off on the New York stage and carrying on in the Olympic mind set of these last two weeks, it was a gold medal performance. In the kitchen on this night were Justin Bittner of Bar Pilar, Logan Cox and pastry chef Alison Reed from Ripple, Claudio Pirollo from Et Voila! They prepared dishes paired with Virginia wines.
