Restaurants in Bloom - RAMW Announces Theme for 2013 RAMMY Awards

January 29, 2013

Washington, DC (January 29, 2013) - During a gathering of its members, its board of directors and local media at Fujimar Restaurant and Lima Lounge in Downtown DC, the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington (RAMW) yesterday unveiled the theme for the 2013 RAMMY Awards: Restaurants in Bloom. Keeping with tradition, this year’s RAMMY Awards celebrate the culinary talents and extraordinary accomplishments of those working in one of the region’s most dynamic industries. Standing out against a lush, emerald green motif, Restaurants in Bloom also recognizes the vibrancy and evolution of the area’s dining scene and affirms a restaurant’s transformative power.

“This is an exciting time for restaurants in the Metropolitan Washington area,” said RAMW President Kathy Hollinger, who assumed leadership of the trade association in December 2012. “They are like seeds with an enormous amount of potential energy to shape and create new environments. The region’s booming dining scene stands as a testament to this idea and it leaves an indelible impression on those who experience it first-hand.”
Known as the “Oscars of DC Area Restaurants,” the 31st annual RAMMY Awards will return to the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel on Sunday, June 23, 2013. The party starts at 6 PM. The annual fete, which last year attracted over 1,600 guests, is an opportunity to present awards to finalists in categories like “New Restaurant,” “Chef of the Year,” “Hottest Restaurant Bar Scene,” and “Casual Restaurant of the Year.”
