The Blue Door kitchen & inn (located in beautiful Rappahannock County) is looking for a sous chef who has strong experience in fine dining establishments that practice sustainability.

Our focus is to offer a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere with a refined yet relaxed dining experience. Most of our offering is made from scratch and as much as possible utilizing local vegetables and meats. In the spring/summer we grow a lot of vegetable and herbs in the garden which makes our menu very seasonal and varies on a weekly basis.

While we expect hard work while open for service (open Thursday through Sunday for 4 dinners at this time) the work week is on average 50 hours. It is a great place to balance work and personal life in a beautiful and serene atmosphere.

The right candidate would have a genuine passion and dedication for creating sustainable and refined dishes with high standard that we have become known for. Previous experience in fine dining is a must. Minimum 3 years experience required.
