SOST which means "three" in Amharic, represents the 3 siblings who started Sost along with the Restaurant, Cafe, and Speakeasy spaces within Sost. This is where the Black and African Diaspora thrive, a cultural bridge built on music, flavor, and community. Here, good things come in 3s: our Hybrid-café, Vinyl room, and Resto-Lounge. Each space invites you to unwind, connect, and explore at your own rhythm. 

About the Food

Our Executive Chef, D’Angelo Mobley is a StarChefs Rising Star nominee and upcoming competitor on Chopped, and he crafts bold, globally inspired dishes that celebrate the African diaspora. Think Harissa Salmon with citrus glaze, Grandma’s Suya Platter sizzling with spice, house-made sambusas, and seasonal plates designed for both comfort and flair. Every dish is plated with creativity and made to impress. The fusion of American & African cuisine brings a new taste to Washington DC!
