About this Event

As a young entrepreneur in hospitality, there are a lot of lessons you learn as you go. What if twenty years later you could write yourself a letter to your younger self to avoid the pitfalls that scarred you but made you into the person you are today. Clyde Davis, Jr. former president and founder of Team Spirits Imports Company and current Vice President of Founding Spirits discusses the challenges and opportunities he faced as a young Black entrepreneur in an industry that still struggles with equal representation for persons of color and women.

Clyde Davis Jr. for the past two decades has been on the forefront of the craft spirits movement. As the founder of Team Spirits Imports Company, He developed both the world’s highest rated creme liqueur and spiced rum. He’s served as a judge for dozens of spirits and cocktail competitions. Clyde is also a co-founder of Rum Day DC, the mid-atlantic’s largest celebration of rum. Clyde currently serves as the Vice President of Founding Spirits in Washington, DC. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Morehouse College and an MBA from the University of Michigan and has two sons, Clyde III and Alexander.
