The Daily Dish celebrates National Dog Day with a Yappy Hour
July 30, 2015 - On August 26, National Dog Day, The Daily Dish is holding a Yappy Hour on their outdoor patio from 5pm to 7pm. Joining them in celebrating the courage, friendship and sloppy nose kisses of everyone’s best friend are their new neighbors, Family Pet Vet and Cleverdog, a doggie day care with boarding and grooming. In addition, Pooches, Kitties and Kisses, a mobile pet grooming service, will be onsite with their colorful truck giving tours and making future appointments to pamper your pet in their mobile salon.
Enjoy “pup” tarts for humans ($4), jumbo hot dogs ($5) and cocktails ($6), including, The Pomeranian (rum, pomegranate juice, triple sec, fresh lemon and grapefruit juices), the Salty Dog (grapefruit juice and vodka with a salt rim) and yes, The Hair of the Dog (a bloody mary made with housemade gazpacho, vodka and hot sauce). Pups will enjoy special treats, including marrow bones for sale. The event is free. Reservations not required.
A portion of proceeds will benefit The Washington Humane Society, the only Congressionally-chartered animal welfare agency in the United States. As the open-access shelter in the Nation’s Capital, it provides comfort and care to more than 51,000 animals annually through its programs and services including sheltering for homeless animals.
