Denizens at The Daily Dish, A Beer Dinner

To celebrate all things spring, Silver Spring’s newest brewery, Denizens Brewing Co, will be featured at a beer dinner at The Daily Dish on March 24th. The Daily Dish’s Executive Chef/Owner Jerry Hollinger and Owner Zena Polin crafted a five course menu that perfectly pairs with five of the local brewery’s best selections.

The $70 dinner (not including tax and gratuities) begins at 6:30 pm with Social Starters and Junk in the Dunk, a Munich-Style Dunkel, served with“cocoa” nuts; Dunkel beer & cheese soup shooters; grainy mustard dip with Lancaster County pretzels; and assorted housemade sausages. The first course features Southside Rye IPA and a salad of roasted radicchio, braised fennel, pyrénées green peppercorn cheese, fresh grapefruit segments, citrus vinaigrette and rye bread croutons. Following is the Short Session, Double IPA paired with calamari stuffed with bamboo rice, pine nuts and raisins over curried tomato shrimp sauce. Ponch’s Porter is served with an entrée of braised lamb shoulder and crispy lamb belly, spaetzel, turnips, parsnips and celery root. Dessert is triple the fun: honey panna cotta with gorgonzola cheese, poached pear and a black pepper strawberry coulis along with Third Party Belgian Style Tripel.

Along with the meal, there will be a talk by Denizens Brewing Co-Owners Jeffrey Ramirez and Julie Verratti, and giveaways including a tour of Denizens Brewery, logoed apparel, gift certificates and more.
