Library of Congress 18th National Book Festival

Come to the 18th Library of Congress National Book Festival, Saturday, Sept. 1, at the Washington Convention Center. Doors will open at 8:30 a.m. Programs begin at 9 a.m. and will run until 7:30 p.m. Follow the excitement via their hashtag, #NatBookFest.

The 18th annual Library of Congress National Book Festival will be held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center on Saturday, Sept. 1. The event is free and open to the public. NOTE: Visitors can expect enhanced safety and security measures when entering the Convention Center.

Author Stages

Amazing authors, illustrators and poets will make presentations on stages dedicated to kids, fiction, history, biography, poetry, graphic novels and more. Many fascinating thematic programs and panel discussions will be offered throughout the festival.

Book Sales

Politics & Prose Bookstore of Washington, D.C., is the official bookseller for the 2018 Library of Congress National Book Festival. Visit the book sales area on the Lower Level if you would like to purchase selected books by festival authors. Be sure to pick up books by your favorite authors before going to the book-signing area. Selected books pre-signed by authors will also be in the book sales area.

Accessibility

We want the festival to be fun for everyone! ASL interpreting services will be provided in all author stages during scheduled events. If you need additional assistance, the Accessibility & Information station, located in the Grand Lobby on the Street Level, will offer access to ASL interpreters, assistive listening devices (ALDs), large-print programs, braille programs and other special services. Please email bookfest@loc.govwith any accessibility questions or requests for accommodations.
